Welcome to Oakey! Our small town is big on industry, but also has quite a lot to see and do if you are just passing through.
Oakey township includes several restaurants, parks, shopping centres, hospital, schools and many local businesses.
Industry includes the nearby Acland Coal Mine, solar farms, meatworks, primary industries, as well as the primary Australian Defence Force training facility for helicopter piloting and maintenance.
Things to see include the Australian Army Flying Museum, the ‘Bernborough’, Oakey Creek, Bunya Mountains National Park, as well as the Jondaryan Woolshed. The area is also home to several award winning wineries (Gowrie Mountain Estate, Rimfire, and Wedgetail Ridge Estate).
